Paper bags in Canada are made from a renewable resource. They are also widely recyclable and compostable. And unlike almost all other Canadian products, most of the energy to make paper bags is supplied by renewable biomass. The industry also replants trees to meet provincially-set sustainability levels, and leads the world in certification of its forests.
